Once again I'm late posting. I had an appointment this morning (again) and come home to construction that's been going on for 3 weeks now. The thing is...it's BS at the finest. Wanna know more? Meet me at the bar.

Added this week wasn't much fun.   This sums it up. The names just need to be updated. 

Well double damn.  I'm at my limit on this page posting. SOB. NOW WHAT??? 

Going to create another section & see what happens. Today is November 14th. URK.

How was your Halloween last night? I went out of my way to have candy…maybe tooo much.

Had a few decorations out, but no lights outside. Inside one little string of orange lights by the back window. Did anyone trick or treat here? Hell no. Why? I think because it was a school night (although some schools around here kids are off today for parent/teacher thing. JEEZ. We never had that!) 

The other possibility could be parents ONLY went by the map on nextdoor.com as the house on the corner was on the map. No one else on the block was listed. I wouldn’t list my address cuz I don’t have a ton of lights like other neighbors.

I miss the old days when Castro Street in SF was one hell of a party on Halloween night. It was so much fun. So sad that we can’t party like that anymore. WTF?

Speaking of lights, I just plugged in the small white lights in the backyard for Diwali. My calendar says Diwali is November 1st. I’ve seen various dates on the web. I’m going with my Americano calendar which says November lst. Happy Diwali everyone, lets bring the light in! 

We stopped by a local Indian restaurant to get an order to go. It’s actually ran by Tibetans.

Had an amusing thought waiting for the order and that was it used to be a Chinese restaurant. China may have taken over Tibet, but the Tibetans moved in their restaurants. HEE HEE!

I want to rewatch Seven Years in Tibet and Kundun . One of the lines that I love is when the Chinese move in and over loud speakers yelling all their propaganda a Tibetan says, “they took away our silence.” I feel that every time I hear loud mouths.

Have to say I read that the USA is hoping China is with us when it comes to North Korea, thus have to say, Oh hell yes!

Day of the Dead is happening as well, which I should have left the Halloween decor out…considering, but I just have to bring and welcome the light.

Don’t forget to fall back on Saturday night. We gain another hour of sleep and more light in the morning. I still don’t understand in this state we voted NOT to mess with the time every Fall and Spring, but it didn’t happen. Again, WTF?

I had a late start yesterday. Buttercup, my dog, woke me up around 6am, but that’s another story. Sh*t happens, right?

One thing that makes me happy is listening to Shaboozey. I discovered him on Apple Music as well as Myles Smith. I recently bought Shaboozey's cd. I could have gotten it for less on Apple Music, but I wanted a hard copy, damn it. My car is old so I ain’t got the ability to plug in, baby!! BUT I got a cd player. HELL YES, it’s old school, fu*kers!

Added the mood yesterday….UGH….went out on some errands and came back ready to eat a deli sandwich outside on the patio. It was a lovely day! While I’m outside in the back I hear bang bang bang band ding dong ding dong knock knock knock. You are messing with my lunch and sandwich banging the hell out of the front door. WTF? WHO knows what is going on, but I decided not to even look. Why should I? I’m having lunch, damn it.

We live on a busy street and all kinds of people pass this way . (Read between the lines)

When we first moved here, the old man next door told us to keep our lights off at night and not answer the door. 

Sure as shit, one night we were celebrating moving in. We had the fireplace and stereo going. BANG BANG! We stupidly answered the door. A woman with kids said her car was messed up and could she use our phone? (The era of land lines, remember those?) I ran to the back door thinking about the old trick where one is distracted in the front and villains come in the back. 

Sure it was probably innocence just like OJ, but hell no. We told her to go to around the corner to a store.

HOW can you trust anyone anymore? I have a problem with all that. Especially with neighbors. They work and build like foreign construction companies not following protocol, but that’s another story…as the rich man’s media tells us all sorts of fairy tales and jams everyone into tiny living spaces like it’s the next best thing to having champagne on the Titanic.

Is that what people are voting for? That’s even a bigger load of …PLOP! (Mic drop)

How ya doin’ out there on this lovely Friday morning?

My 1st question to myself this morning was, “what kind of hell is happening for today?” Why do I ask that question?

Yesterday morning my dog was barking and I went out on the back porch where she was sitting. She likes to sit in the sun (on a chair). She’s barking because a man is on the neighbors garage next door. He’s saying something in a foreign language. My neighbor suddenly appears and says they are checking the roof. I yelled that I least they have gutters now. (Not long ago they replaced the roof and gutters). Why weren’t there gutters before? Cuz a foreign construction company behind us rebuilt the 2 bedroom house into a mini mansion. They built ON the property line and had to cut into the gutters! Can you believe that crap? The guy living there at the time wasn’t well and I don’t even know if he noticed. Did the city do anything? NO.

The city did (at the time) prevent the foreign contraction company from cutting a window upstairs. (But there’s one now!!!- guess it’s “grandfathered in”) They also prevented them from building right next to our back fence. At the time, I ran out and said to one of the workers that it was tooo close to the fence. He said he couldn’t do anything. OF course he couldn’t…right??  Now there’s a deck that connects to the legal ADU to the fence. They even built around the lemon tree. That’s what happens in the pricey “trailer park” these days. Guess I’m just really and I mean really tired of a-holes with “entitlements”. Dad used to talk about that a lot. He’s right on the money.

On a good note, Steve Sando, (Rancho Gordo Beans) will be at Rockridge Market Hall signing his new book, The Bean Book. I’m thinking about heading over. Ive never been to Rockridge Market Hall. I was researching the stores and products. A roasted chicken is 26 bucks! MOMA MIA, that IS pricey!! Even Roli Roti chickens aren’t that expensive and damn good. (Now at Berkeley farmers market on Saturday, btw)

Winds are up today with fire warnings out. And remember IF someone yells at you in your backyard, yell back. They don’t own the place or run the show or pay the bills. People need to realize that there is NO space, so get used to it. At least, that’s what I tell myself ALL the time. Have a great weekend and stay safe out there!

Happy Friday! You gettin’ a 3 day weekend? It’s Columbus Day or now it’s Indigenous People’s Day. What are your plans? Are you going out of town? I would if I didn’t have to pay out of the rear for accommodations these days. JEEZ! So will play it by ear as usual.

Got a lot of chores to do. They’re stacking up and want to do them before the rains start. (Hopefully it will start)

Have you heard about Bob Woodward’s book coming out called War? It sure seems like a good read! Can’t wait to check that out! (Need to put a hold at the library.)

I've been watching a series that is from a book Evan Wright wrote. Evan Wright?  I never heard of him until I started watching Generation Kill, an old HBO series about the invasion of Iraq in 2003. It’s combat, but there are some interesting happenings along with some great lines. I recently read a few marines were disciplined for their comments, but the article said it was “rumor”. Was it? 

Just ordered his book Generation Kill, thinking there it will be more informative. Can’t wait to dive into it! I checked the local library and they have ZERO books by him. WTF???

Wikipedia says his writing has been compared to Hunter Thompson. Fear and Loathing is an awesome book and I used to read it once a year.  I loved that book. Maybe I should start again. The movie sucked in my opinion. It could have been so much better. Johnny Depp sucked.

Good morning! Are you staying cool out there? Maybe you are already into Fall weather or maybe even summer on the other side of the world. High today will be 80 by the bay and tomorrow 92! UGH. This is hot for us. We are waiting for Karl the fog to roll back in!

Glad we got a new roof. It really helps with heat since no AC. Keeping the windows open until the heat kicks in. My melons from the farm box were ripe when I got them. This morning, whoaaa…I cut them up and now in frig. Gonna be having a lot of melon in the next few days.

Maybe I’ll bring some to the potluck tomorrow at the corner park. Will I go? I don’t know, with a cane, it’s a pain to carry stuff. I just hope everyone organizing this potluck just wants to get together and not try to convince us of something IF you know what I mean…..(America, everyone is a salesman. BUY BUY BYE!)

 Plus, have a previous engagement. Will play it by ear. Been looking forward to a local Oktoberfest even if it will be in the 90’s. Get in early, drink and eat and get out. Hopefully, will get to hear a Polka band. 

Another even is happening at the ferry bldg, which I’d go to if it wasn’t for the Oktoberfest celebration. Steve Sando will be promoting his new bean book. I love that guy and have belonged to the bean club for years. I just cooked Buckeye beans for this week, They are even better than pinto, btw.

Liz Cheney is supporting Harris. I love that. Right on. They can’t get to her and her father cuz anybody that messes with them….well you seen Yellowstone, haven’t you? 

The Boss also endorsed Harris. RIGHT ON! BUT I can’t help thinking that Trump will say he won no matter what. What happened to phrases/words like sore loser? 

Have you registered to vote? IF not, please do!. What do you want our country to become? Don’t we have enough capitalist pigs running the show?

The last home game for the A’s was yesterday. I was so happy a buddy went as she has been so devastated they are leaving. WTF is wrong with  Fisher? Sell the team and move into Golden Gate Fields. I’ll get my vegan sausage cart going a few blocks away. Field of dreams.

Giants last game is Sunday. I was rather annoyed over prices going up for the last game. MFers!

Thinking about heading to the ballpark  and hang outside.  Always wonderful to be by the bay. I just hate taking stinking Bart and no way in hell would I drive over and pay ass gouging prices for parking. I think the last time I noticed the parking lot next to Java House the parking fee was freakin $50.00. MFer. I’m sure that beats getting a parking ticket on a Sunday, right? Greed and more Greed, but what else is new?

I tried to spray off the dark footprints with where the a-hole walked through the freshly poured cement one night, even though it was blocked off. After all, that inconvenienced some little creep so by God, that little prick was gonna do some damage. I hope karma comes back and bites that creep in the ass.

Speaking of pricks, my sister was in Nations the other day. A jackass ran in and grabbed food off a tray ready to be picked up. She said a delivery guy grabbed him and they fought. He finally let the guy go. I’m outside in the car waiting for her and I see this guy running and he stands on the sidewalk so I can see him and dances around like a weird zombie. Of course, I ignore him. Have to say I’m proud of the guy that clocked his ass. RIGHT ON. 

What is the old saying? Whatever you do, gonna come back on you. I try to remember that.

I missed the Friday morning deadline yesterday as had appointment in Oakland. What was I thinking????? Should I rename the column?? Nah….hopefully, it won’t happen again.

Been thinking of Oktoberfest and heading over to SF, but I hate crowds and I know it will be crowded, so backing off today. We did have a mini celebration yesterday for happy hour with Weihenstephaner bier, the oldest brewery in the world. I found a six pack at BevMo and it wasn’t cheap, but thought, why not?

As I look out the window, am happy to see the tree I’ve been talking about. They didn’t take it away…yet. After pouring the concrete for the sidewalk, I saw an a-hole stomp through it leaving prints. I yelled at him saying he couldn’t do that and he said he could! He yelled, Call the police! I yelled he was mean. I txted my neighbor and she came out ready to smooth it out. Luckily, the contractors showed up and reworked it. 

However, the next day dark footprints were on the freshly poured concrete. It looks like an a-hole (maybe the same one) stomped the sidewalk AGAIN. It looks like paint or ink or something on the bottom. Hopefully, it will wash off eventually. I really need a RING camera.

What really gets me is the sidewalk wasn’t great and could have been worse as many other sidewalks in the neighborhood. I’m thinking it was about the tree. I’m only speculating, but that’s my guess. WTF, right?

Do you have or use or like Apple Music? I tried it free for a month and it’s awesome!!!!! I’m not ready to dish out for a subscription, but last night I checked new music and found Myles Smith. WOW!!!!!!!! He is amazing. I read he posted unfinished pieces on TikTok and got tons of feedback and that was the start.

He’s on tour and I damn near fainted when I saw he will be in San Francisco this Monday and Tuesday at the Independent. Never been there, have you? If I still lived in San Francisco and could get an easy seat since I use a cane, I’d go. I think I saw he will be in Oakland next year. That’s something to think about, but not tooo long.

There is a pic of him with a t-shirt on that says I went to therapy and therapy is crossed out and it says a Myles Smith concert. I felt the same way just listening to his music. Don’t take my word for it, check it out. 

How ya doing out there? It’s past Friday morning, so I’m late. I had a zoom thing happening this morning. NOT that I really wanted to participate, but you know how it is. It’s Friday, the 13th. Are you superstitious?

I wrote about the tree last week. It is staying for now. The city keeps saying IF they have to repave, it could go. At least for now the tree lives on and I don’t have to do my Julie Butterfly imitation.

Oktoberfest is coming up. Any plans? I’m thinking of heading to a local place early. Love to make it over to SF and visit Suppenküche, Love that place and their biergarten and Radhauss.

I haven’t been in a looooong time. I just don’t head over that way much these days. Added I HATE Bart Civic Center. Double YUK. They say it’s improved….but has it??? I once sat next to a guy smoking meth off his aluminum foil INSIDE the station waiting for my train. WTF?????

For the Oktoberfest celebration I made sour kraut a couple of days ago. My cabbage was only 2 pounds so if fit into a 1/2 pint jar! I added caraway seeds that had never been opened. Hopefully, they won’t deter the taste. Plan on looking for chicken bratwursts, making German potato salad, apple strudel and bier. Chicken bratwursts can be hard to find sometimes. Sprouts will hopefully have them. For the German potato salad I use turkey bacon as well.

This weekend playing it by ear. Sometimes that’s more interesting…sometimes. If you got plans that’s great. Have a wonderful time out there and stay safe!

How’s everyone doing out there? I read something about change in the air. Ain’t that the freakin’ truth?

Today my favorite neighbors are moving. It’s sad, but what are ya gonna do? Today is also the decision by the arborist if the old Italian pine tree is ok. 

It all started with a kid on a scooter that fell off. The surface is irregular as the tree branches are moving that concrete. That kid cried and cried. His father rushed him away. A few weeks later, contractors from the city are smoothing it out the best they could.

I recently heard a guy that lives on the other block telling a neighbor how irregular the sidewalk is and that they originally poured the concrete tooo thin., Like this guy is an expert? Seriously???

The decision comes down today. IF the city can't find a solution with the tree, so be it. I don't want the tree falling on the house or the neighbors house or in the street hitting a car or something.

They have already demolished the concrete and dug out the shallow roots. I know roots were destroyed when we had to put a lateral thing to the sewer a few years ago. You HAVE to do that here when you sale your house or negotiate to have it done. We did it as roots were continuously getting into the pipes. 

Next door cut a huge root out in working on his driveway. How does that affect the tree??? I don’t know. 

I know that when we replaced the old pipes in the house the plumber showed us the pipes. They were full of roots. The tree is getting water from somewhere right? 

I’m sure the drought a couple of years ago took it’s toll. The drought took it’s toll on a lot of things. It wasn’t any fun.

The part about the drought that got me was the water company RAISED our rates saying that they weren’t making enough money as everyone cut back like they TOLD us to do. Where in the hell was our Ralph Nader on that one? WHERE was the local and state government on that one? WTF??? I knew a guy that cut back on his water consumption and the water company held him to it the next year. He basically screwed himself. What a Banana Republic we live in these days and it could get worse people!!! Think about that when you vote this November.

Since I’m on a roll, have to mention this. I had lunch at my local restaurant and there is a sign at the cashier that says, 3% fee added if using a credit card. Has that happened to you? I just looked that up this morning. There are a few states that don’t allow this fee. They are Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts & Oklahoma. IF the merchants have this fee, they have to offer another form of payment. My restaurant said for now they are will take cash, but soon you can only use your debit card.

Now that gets me. Why? I stopped using my debit card during COVID, then started reading about all the stuff that can go wrong. Do you use your debit card at the gas station? Hell no!

Just saying. I plan on boycotting these places as long as possible. Heck, a lot of the times I cook better than what I’m buying. Seriously. No brags, just facts.

I just saw a commercial about Jimmy Dean sausage and at the end he says, “when you finish you know you had something to eat.“ Bravo!!! Now that’s decent copy writing for an advertisement. I didn’t pay any attention to see if the damn color scheme matches the products most do these days. Such a load of crap. Seriously!

Are you gonna grill/barbecue/cook for Labor Day weekend? Make it something good! I plan on throwing sausages on the grill. Thet’s easy along with a  Armenian Summer Salad with a nice sparkling wine or cold Warsteiner. 

Harris and Waltz had their first interview last night on CNN. Anybody watch it? I watched 5 minutes and was bored so changed the station,

Anybody watch the series White Lotus on HBO/Max? Before the last episode there is a huge spoiler alert by the writer, fast forward that shit. I was so poed!!! I hate the theme song for White Lotus btw. It is so damn creepy, like the series. It’s slow moving in the beginning and it sucks you in like a a bad accident. You can’t tear yourself away. There are only two seasons, but they claim they are working on second 3 and it it will be in Thailand. Holy Crap.

Speaking of series, Yellowstone is FINALLY back in November. Are they gonna kill off Kevin Costner? WTF? We waited way toooo long for this!! 

Speaking of Kevin Costner, his movie Horizon: An American Saga Chapter 1 is finally available on HBO/Max. It’s three hours long! I read it bombed in the theatre, but didn’t it get a standing ovation at the Cannes Film Festival?

For some reason I started thinking about this song, Cattle Call, by Eddy Arnold. As kids mom would play this song. We would get so poed!! We hated it. If you are looking to mess with anyone, play this loudly. I’d be real curious what happens next.

I could write about a ton of stuff that is really, really bugging me since yesterday, but I won’t. Besides my troubles are mine and probably boring to you. I thank my family and friends for listening, though. :)

I started thinking about what a guru said I follow on Instagram. His name escapes me (I am sorry to say). He was saying that people are always saying to “let go”. He said don’t let go. Why? Cuz you are STILL putting energy into it. All that energy will keep whatever you are letting go, still be around. 

Instead let it dance. Eventually it will go away. No energy. Then I suddenly thought of River Dance by Beyoncé.  Dance!  Hell yes. The universe is talking to me. 

Lately, I’m obsessed with middle eastern food. I crave a good humus. I crave fresh pita bread. I long for a fresh beautiful salad. I recently checked these ebooks from Hoopla ( why can’t I use Hoopla on my laptop? It’s a bitch to read on the phone sometimes. Am I missing something? I need a 12 yr old IT kid, got one? Send them over) 

Lebanese Home Cooking by Kamal Mouzawak, Complete Arab Cookery by Arto Der Haroutunia, Vegan Recipes from the Middle East by Marvin Razavi, Julie Tabouli’s Lebanese Kitchen by Julie Ann Sager. Also, have a REAL book from the library called, Bottom of the Pot, Persian Recipes and Stories by Naz Deravian.

Yum and yum. I can not begin to absorb it all. WOW. How I wish a restaurant was near by. 

Recently read José Andrés  of World Kitchen saying something about wars. Why can’t it be that we just argue what country has the best humus? Feel like donating? Just an idea. You got your favorites and I got mine.

Happy Friday! How’s everyone doing out there? Schools back (yippie…well for some), Covid is back and that’s AGAIN on my mind. I  freaked when another buddy  got Covid, who has never had it. He did confess to not wearing a mask outside the immediate bay area. WHY? Frowned upon. Can you BELIEVE that crap??? 

I emailed my doctor telling him all my worries and he set up an appointment for the vaccine. The doctor has to order it now (vs. dropping in), as I think they are running low on supplies since the newest version will be out in the fall.

It never dawned on me they would be out of Pfizer, damn it. I’ve ALWAYS had that one. “Needle” tech guy said all they had was Moderna. What choice did I have? 

After getting the injection, about 10 hrs, I started feeling crappy with joints aching and headache. Really hard to sleep that night. In the morning, I popped a big OTC (500 mg) and used a heat pad. I stayed in bed and slept most of the day. Towards the end of the day, I began feeling 90 percent back to normal. SO KNOCK on wood.

I know it doesn’t cover the NEWEST strain out there, but if I do get it, hopefully it will be a mild case. Hear me out. PLEASE wear your masks inside. It can’t hurt. And Screw anyone staring you down. Heck, they are probably Trumpers…

On the lighter side, it’s a beautiful day here. Simply fantastic ( read that like the blonde in Aboulete Fabulous!) I’ve been watching a series called The Industry on HBO/Max. It’s a train wreck and I can’t tear myself away. Lots of screwing, cocaine and financial bs. There is justice and I won’t say what in case you just started watching it.

If only there was justice like that when I worked at __________. Employees got away with all kinds of shit. For example, coming in late, leaving early, pretending to have flex time. Refusing to do certain duties (that was part of their job description btw). A few thought they WERE management. Why? Cuz the last mgr I worked for didn’t do jack shit. She was never there and when she was, one would have thought she was the Queen of England…just saying and Glad I am not there anymore.

On a much more positive note. Have you ever tried Apple Music? You can for free for a month. Oh my! Oh my! It is lovely.!!! Try it, it’s FREE. You won’t be disappointed.

HAPPY FRIDAY! I'm a little slow today. It's already past 1 pm.

Have you ever heard of Calabrian Chile paste? (Above my pay grade) It's kind of pricey. World Market had a jar for under 6 bucks, btw.

It's spicy! Made out of  Italian peppers. A good substitute would be Harissa, so I'm going with that.

WHY? I got a bunch of cherry tomatoes I ordered from Full Belly Farms. ( I have TWO, yes TWO ripe cherry tomatoes, if the squirrels didn't get them)

Decided to make a pasta with no cook cherry tomato sauce out of Bon Appétit Summer issue.  Hopefully, this will be tasty.

The Rock in Ballers Season 2

August 2nd!!! Where did it all go?? At least we got tomatoes! Eat as many as you can then freeze or can them. Every year I’ve bought a flat of tomatoes and canned salsa. I save the juice for bloody Marys. Let me tell you, that juice is worth all the time and effort of making the salsa.

This year I’m just not feeling it. Maybe it started with the rerigerator pickles I recently made, I swear I read one cup water went in the brine with the other ingredients. Recently rereading it I saw nothing about water. MFer. Did I zip into another dimension?? I reread the recipe, no mention of water…? I need to do a taste test. If the pickles taste bland, will adding a table spoon of vinegar help???

I have to say that I  want a Harris sign for the front yard. Where do I get one? I googled that and it sent me to amazon. I don’t want to buy a sign from amazon. Wouldn’t you think Google would have directed me to my nearest democratic headquarters???

I’m thinking EVEN if Harris won by 3 million votes, the electrical college will support Trump. Doesn’t that sound familiar?  2016-Clinton 65,853,625 votes (48.0%) & Trump 62,985,106 votes (45.9%) So….Hilary won. The people voted. Just sayin’…

On another note, this morning saw a poor dead possum on the bike bath on the street out front. That poor thing. Will he be scooped up and put in the garbage? I don’t think so. I’m chicken and he’s closer to next door. I went online for animal control and had to complete a form. The number was for emergency only. WTF????

And will the city come pick up the junk we scheduled so long ago that’s at the end of the driveway? I sure hope they do. Who wants to move it AGAIN? I used to love it when San Francisco had free pick up. There were treasures out there!

Today the temp is dropping a little. Yippie. The Paris Olympics are starting today. I hope I don’t screw up and miss the opening ceremony. It will be awesome to watch along with USA men’s basketball team. Lebron & Curry fighting to win! Whoo-hoo! Where’s my local sports bar? Oh, wait a minute…not sitting inside with covid back up. Damn.

In honor of the Olympics, just finished a chocolate croissant from Trader Joes. I nuked it a few minutes to melt the chocolate a bit. Compared to bakeries, it’s average and I’ve had better. In fact, Trader Joes changed the recipe (of course!) There’s a French bakery near me that I’ve been wanting to try. Their hours are pretty early. Thursday and Fridays open 7:30 am to 11 am and Saturday-Sunday hours are 8 am to 11am. They say that the bakery sells out early and to stand in iine. Maybe I should check the bakery out when I force myself up at 0-dark-thirty to get gas at Costco. It sucks, but at least there’s no line. Right?

Did you see the IT screw up this morning around the world from an American company that was doing some kind of Microsoft security update (at least that’s what I understood it as) WTF?

Crowdstrike is a cybersecurity firm to protect users from hackers. MFer. I would be so poed if my long awaited vacation was seriously delayed cuz the airlines grounded all the flights until everything was straighten out. One plans this stuff for months, begging for time off, saving $$$, etc. I am feeling for all those people attempting to rearrange all their plans.

And remember last week me mentioning Covid is up? It sure as hell is. My friend’s husband just tested positive. This guy is religious about taking precautions. The only thing I can figure out is he caught it from his grandchildren. They don’t wear masks and he doesn’t either around them. MASK UP PEOPLE!!

And Trump’s speech last night…UGH. I could ONLY watch a couple of minutes. AND how dare all these hot shots make it public that Biden should step down. This stuff should be behind closed doors. The public doesn’t need to know how bloody fragmented the party is. HOLY CRAP.

A good thing for this area is temps along the bay today won’t be as high as inland. It’s been this way so far this summer and I really hope it stay that way. Most of us DO NOT HAVE  AC. So knock on wood.

Another good thing about to happen is the Paris Olympics. Whoo-hoo. I especially look forward to seeing the USA men’s basketball play and the surfing competition. There was an article this morning in the Washington Post titled “Classic French Pastries and the Olympic Sports to Pair With Them”. An example is that one should have a cream puff watching basketball. That will work for me!

Damn. Covid is back up. I hate it. I really, really hate it. Are you gonna run out and get another vaccination? I’m not. I’m going to wait until Fall.

I stopped going to movies because of Covid. I loved going to movies!!!! Nothing like a big screen, some popcorn and a beer (at my local theater). How I miss it! I’ve thought about going back, but I’d have to wear a mask being indoors. I hate wearing a mask that long.

I stopped going to bars. I love going to bars, especially happy hours!!! Now, I only go IF one can sit outside. I might give an exception IF I can sit right by the door. Why aren’t there more Beer gardens? It’s wonderful to set outside and sip a beer and maybe hear a polka band. Prost!

I don’t ride the bus like I used to..well part of that is now using a cane, but we used to ride the bus all the way to Jack London Square. On as Sunday, there’s a  farmer's market that used to have really damn good tacos. Then there is World Market. I love that place. Great deals on stuff from around the world. I've always liked this store better than Pier One. (& Pier One is now gone. Sure hope World Market doesn't close. I need to go shopping!)

Next we’d head over to the Irish pub Slainte. They actually closed at one point, but patrons (I think) put some money in and reopened. How cool is that? BUT do they still have outdoor seating??? And how safe is Jack London Square these days? People are getting messed with in Oakland. I don’t like it.

Did you see on the news that NYers were being robbed?  People eating outside were held up at gun point. JESUS. What the hell is going on out there??? Should we start carrying weapons? Do you know martial arts? Sometimes I wish I could beat the crap out of some little a-hole acting out. Probably a good thing I don’t have that skill, right? I carry pepper spray sometimes…The best thing to do is not wear any bling and look casual as possible and don’t react. They WANT you to react. That’s what those damn zombies do. Forget the immigrants, lets ship the zombies and a-holes out. 

How is everyone doing after celebrating the 4th? Didn't feel like the 4th to me.  It's all this media hype of the president being old and the party asking him to step down. WTF?

Isn't it interesting that nothing in that kind of detail is mentioned about Trump?  Go figure, right????

I was thinking about all the times I was messed with about age on jobs. Total a-holes being mean telling me I'm old...too old to be working with such a "young" crew.  I got to the point I would no longer talked about age. 

Then there was sex discrimination at a major corporation I used to work at. A co-worker told me I should be home having babies so he could have my job. What a MFer, right??? (I just told my immediate supervisor saying, If that fu*ker messes with me again...) 

Thus, this BS about Biden is BS!!! and anyone that believes it...well...GET A GRIP. 

It is social media at its finest, blowing shit up that doesn't mattetr. Distractions of what the hell is really going on out there. (which we won't know until about 50 years from now)

I left instagram for a while, along with Twitter ( I refuse to call it "X" like Bill Maher). There is so much crap being posted. Not like this page. This is an opinion/review of current affairs. Like they used to say, "Put that in your pipe and smoke it'." 

To the MFer sitting in the handicapped seat on Muni coming from the ball park. FU*K YOU and FU*K YOU. YOU selfish Rat Turd! I'm holding on for dear life with one hand and the other a cane. Yes, I use a cane and it is ruff out there!

Did I believe the sincerity of the woman with family from Tennessee? Yes. She offered to ask people to get up for me. My sister told her no one would and she said in Tennessee they would. That’s where she was from.

People used to get up here. What the hell happened? Greedy selfish pricks abound! All I can say is EVIL MUST DIE or sent to jail or outer space or Ms Manners basic school of etiquette. Where are our super heroes to help us? I don’t see any. How come?

Even our president looked weak as shit the debate last night. HE should have just rambled on and lied as well. I wanted to put sunglasses on Biden. Make him look a little ruff and mean. Maybe add a tattoo on his neck and pierce his ear. Pierce his nose? Nah…that would have been over the top. And now the democrats are talking about replacing him? WTF? I should have NEVER read anything like that in the press. That’s down right stupid to let that out. Makes the party look weak as shit. GET over it. Support Biden!

On a better note, it’s Friday people! I just made two different marinates. One for mushrooms and one for veggies. Plan on throwing them on a skewer and a hot grill. IF it’s all tasty will post the info on Weirtalk.blog
